Important Dates
Date | Description |

August 5 | Potential candidate election packets available on MyMT |
August 13 | Completed potential candidate packets are due in STU 330 by 4:00 p.m. |
August 15 | Candidates eligible to run Homecoming Court will be announced by this date. Eligible and non-eligible candidates will be notified via e-mail. |
August 16 | All Candidates’ banners and tabling sign-ups open. Sign-ups will be found on the excel spreadsheet that will be emailed to every Candidate. Sign up early to ensure tabling space. |
August 20 | Candidates’ mandatory meeting, 6:00 p.m. on ZOOM. Link will be sent to Candidates. |
August 26 | Candidate banners due by 4:00 p.m. in the CSIL Office (STU 330). FIRST DAY OF CLASSES |
August 27 | Candidate campaigning can commence starting at 12:01 a.m. |
September 3 | Voting opens at 10:00 a.m. |
September 6 | Voting closes at noon. |
September 6 | Homecoming Court Election Results posted by 4:00 p.m. outside of Student Union 330 and 306 and on SGA social media. |
September 21 | MTSU Homecoming Football Game |

Students may protest an alleged violation of the Electoral Act by completing a complaint form.

Become a part of the SGA Election Commission.
The purpose of the SGA Election Commission is to uphold the integrity of all elections and referendums coming before the student body. It is comprised of four student members and chaired by the SGA Election Commissioner. The commission’s duty is to ensure that all aspects of any referendum or election, coming before the students, strictly adhere to the university’s Electoral Act.
