Important Dates

Date	Description
August 4	Potential candidate election packets available on myMT
August 12	Completed potential candidate packets are due by 4:00 p.m. on myMT
August 14	Candidates eligible to run for Homecoming Court will be announced by this date. Eligible and non-eligible candidates will be notified via e-mail.
August 15	All Candidates’ banners sign-ups start. Sign-ups will be found on the spreadsheet that will be emailed to every Candidate.  Candidates can also start to request tabling space here.
August 19	Candidates’ mandatory meeting 6:00 p.m. on ZOOM. Link will be sent to Candidates.
August 25	Candidate banners due by 4:00 p.m. in the CSIL Office (STU 330). FIRST DAY OF CLASSES
August 26	Candidate campaigning can commence starting at 12:01 a.m.
September 2	Voting opens at 10:00 a.m.
September 5	Voting closes at 11:45 p.m. Homecoming Court Election Results posted by 4:00 p.m. outside of Student Union 330 and 306 and on SGA social media.
September 20	MTSU Homecoming Football Game.

About SGA Elections

Students may protest an alleged violation of the Electoral Act by completing a complaint form.

Become a part of the SGA Election Commission.

The purpose of the SGA Election Commission is to uphold the integrity of all elections and referendums coming before the student body. It is comprised of four student members and chaired by the SGA Election Commissioner. The commission’s duty is to ensure that all aspects of any referendum or election, coming before the students, strictly adhere to the university’s Electoral Act.
